The staging instance of RMP is used for testing and demonstrating the RMP software. All of the email addresses in the staging RMP database and the staging Checkbox database have been changed to: [email protected]. This means that you can create and schedule surveys without fear that they will be sent to actual users.
The staging instance of RMP is not available to users outside of SMG to access it, you first must do two things:
- Be on the VPN. You must use the OpenVPN client to connect to the VPN to out GCP network. If you have not been setup with an OpenVPN client on your computer, submit a ticket to helpdesk to get that setup.
- You must also make some changes to your "hosts" file. If you are not familiar with this process, again submit a helpdesk ticket to get assistance in doing this. The settings to be added to your hosts file are:

Once you are logged into the VPN and have updated your hosts file, you can access the staging sites.

When using the staging sites, is is VERY IMPORTANT to make sure you are actually on the staging site, and not the production site. You should confirm this immediately after logging in as follows:
- After logging into stagermp.bioinfoinc.com, scroll to the bottom and be sure there is an alert saying that you are on the staging site:
- After logging into stagecheckbox.bioinfoinc.com, go to the contacts page and verify that all contacts have an email address of [email protected]:
- When clicking through to take a survey, verify that the URL for the survey starts with: stagesurvey.bioinfoinc.com
If these conditions are met, you can be confident that you are on the staging site.
Important note: It is best to load the staging site from an incognito window in your browser so there are no cookie conflicts with the production site.
